Kris Karcher.

* I really enjoyed the training.    Of course I loved hearing Mike speak at the end and share his story.  With two Officers shot and killed in the Sheriff’s Office, it brings some reality that this job is very dangerous and to never let down your guard.  Thank you for bringing this training.  I hope you can come back.

* Overall, this was very good training and I enjoyed it.  The most powerful piece was having the family come and speak about how a trauma effects members of your family.

* Yes, I enjoyed the training. His story is so amazing, and he has a lot to offer.

  • )  Have a handout with contact info. for a Blog if the family has one.  If they don't, encourage them to establish one.  I know many of us would have sent a supportive message, thanking them for their time and effort to speak with us.  Also, it would be good to follow his progress.

Of the many conferences I’ve attended this ranks above many.
Hearing Mike’s story from the view of the wife and daughter was very important.  Observation:  Even if it is not really what happened, perceptions are what counts and thus the following.  It was a good reminder to the chaplains present that there is away to do our job and a way not to.  For example, not leaving people alone—especially kids after notification and as well what to say and what not to say.
  • The video at the end was very sobering—many thought that could be me or in the case of the chaplain, I could have been in the car with Mike when that happened.
  • I thought the training was very useful even for the department of corrections. There was a lot of information that we could use if there is an offender shot during a transport or from one of the towers. I thought the level of knowledge was great the material was well thought out and put together. I instruct for the department of corrections and I thought the CISM portion was well done. I would like to know if I could get the Power point so that I could use it in class and with the Emergency Response Team so that we know that there are different options other than the bottle and drugs. Great job on the class Thank you !

* Your lodge did a great job.  I only hope  that the projects our lodge puts on, will be as valuable and well ran as this one was.

  • It was really good to hear from the Kraliceks, including his wife and daughter.  They have some important messages for the rest of us.    What an inspiration they were, especially Mike!
  •  great stuff…thanx!!!  J

* What did you like the best?
Mike Kralicek put a human face to a significant tragedy and the importance to preparing your family and supporting each other.

* I am an instructor for the Department of Corrections and I attended the FOP training in Burien 4/16/09. I learned so much from you, Carrie and Alexis that I can use in class and I am grateful for that opportunity. Sometimes I look out at the new faces and wonder how I can send them into prisons with criminals! But then I think of "that one person" that I wanted to reach and perhaps make a difference. The things you mentioned about tactical positioning, mental/emotional/physical survival and first aid are all things I can use in class. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
